 Schagen municipality / Gemeente Schagen (NH) Schagen is a town and a municipality in the North-West of the Noord-Holland province, formed in 2013 by the merging of Schagen and the municipalities of Zijpe and Harenkarspel which both comprised a large number of villages and hamlets. The only town and administrative center is Schagen. Schagen is een stad en gemeente in het noordwesten van Noord-Holland. De gemeente is in 2013 ontstaan door de samenvoeging van Schagen en de gemeenten Zijpe en Harenkarspel, die beide een groot aantal dorpen en gehuchten omvatten. Schagen is de enige stad en het bestuurlijke centrum. |

is a large church in neo-Gothic style, designed by J.A.G. van de Steur and built
in 1895-1897 on the site of a Gothic predecessor which was destroyed by fire.
The neo-Gothic style is uncommon for a protestant church but is in this case
closely related to the much more common neo-Renaissance style of that time.

Callantsoog  The
reformed church
is a part-two-aisled church, built in a traditional style in 1580-1581 using
parts of the previous church. The narrower side-aisle, which looks like a
transept-arm, was added in the 17th century. The wooden upper part of the tower
