Buren is a well preserved historic little town and the center of a municipality in the Betuwe region of the Gelderland province.

The reformed Lambertuskerk is a Gothic building from the 14th century, but with two octagonal tower segments in Renaissance and Classical style respectively; one designed by Italian architect Alexander Pasqualini, the other by Pieter Post.

The reformed Stefanuskerk in Zoelen is a late-Gothic church from the 16th century with a tower and a choir from the 15th century. Remarkable is the shape of the windows of the nave which, although they are original, are not pointed but have an eliptical shape instead.

tower is from the 14th century and is very similar to the one in Erichem.
