Oost Gelre municipality / Gemeente Oost Gelre (G)
The Oost Gelre municipality was formed in 2005 when the municipalities Groenlo and Lichtenvoorde merged. First named Groenlo, the municipality changed its name to Oost Gelre in 2006. Population is largely catholic. Apart from these towns, the municipality comprises the villages Eefsele, Harreveld, Lichtenvoorde, Lievelde, Mariënvelde, Vragender, Zieuwent en Zwolle.
De gemeente Oost Gelre werd in 2005 gevormd door een fusie van de gemeenten Groenlo en Lichtenvoorde. Na aanvankelijk Groenlo te hebben geheten, werd de naam van de gemeente in 2006 gewijzigd in Oost Gelre. Behalve de genoemde steden telt de gemeente de dorpen Eefsele, Harreveld, Lichtenvoorde, Lievelde, Mariënvelde, Vragender, Zieuwent en Zwolle.
Groenlo
The Oude Calixtus (old Calixtus) is a late-Gothic church from the 15th- and 16th centuries, with a short tower from the 14th. It has served as a reformed church since 1627, when the protestant army conquered the catholic city, but is nowadays also used for cultural purposes.

The catholic church is the 'new' St. Calixtus, a big Neo-Gothic cruciform basilica, designed by J.Th.J. Cuypers and J. Stuyt and built in 1907-1908.

St. Joseph chapel was
added in 1932 to the eponymous catholic school and convent. The chapel
currently serves as a school library.

The St. Vincentius chapel was built in 1936 as part of a hospital, now a retirement home. The building in Traditionalist style was designed by C.A. Hardeman.

Lievelde
The catholic church Christus Koning was built in 1953-1954 and was designed by W.P.V. Dijkman. The church is in a Traditionalist style inspired by the Roman basilica.

In 1648 the protestant Johanneskerk was built, using walls of the choir of the former catholic chapel. The new church was built in a traditional style with clear roots in Gothic.

The catholic St. Bonifatius is a big cruciform basilica in Neo-Gothic style. It was designed by W. te Riele and was built in 1912-1913, replacing a smaller church built in 1819.

The former Gereformeerde kerk was built in moderate Expressionist style in 1933. It was designed by architect H.J. Wikkerink. The building now is a house and an office.

The St. Agatha is a pseudo-basilica in Neo-Gothic style. It was designed by G. te Riele, the father of W. te Riele, and built in 1888-1889.
